GCN Youth Ministry
Gaithersburg Church of the Nazarene Youth Ministry specifically ministers to youth and families of youth between ages 12 to 18 (grades 6-12). Our purpose is really pretty simple: Seek God together, love each other authentically, and serve others selflessly. We are all about…
- …students establishing a relationship with God.
- …teens and families of teens growing in Christ and being transformed by God.
- …serving others. We are always challenged by God’s word to love more, serve more, and give more.
- …living this life – together! Following Christ is not easy – we need each other. That’s why we gather on Sunday nights, Wednesday nights, and in smaller groups on Thursdays.

Deep Impact
On Sunday evenings, our students and adult leaders gather to share a meal, play some awesome games, worship God, and learn more about the God who leads us. Adults participate in Deep Impact as small group leaders, preparing food, being part of a support team, as game coordinators, and whatever other activities may need help.
Sunday, August 15th (Starting at 5:45 p.m.):
Join us at GCN for an amazing evening with a meal, games, worship, and teens sharing about their camp experience.
(Please note that we are not going to Community of Hope in D.C. as previously planned.)Guys: Bring a drink (2 liter)
Ladies: Bring chips or a side
Everyone: Bring $3.00 and a couple friends!
Sunday, August 22nd (Starting at 5:30 - 8:00 p.m.):
End of Summer barn party at the Currans. Bring your friends and bring your appetites – the Currans will provide the barn.
Small Groups for Teens
A key part of our youth ministry is to provide a place where our students GROW - both in their relationship with Christ, and with one another. We have discipleship classes on Sunday mornings for Middle School and High School students at 9:00 a.m.
In addition, Small Groups for Teen guys and Teen girls meet on Thursdays. These groups offer opportunities for students to go much deeper in their faith, to ask tough questions, and to find accountability with other students. We welcome any teens who are interested to come.

On Wednesday nights at 7:00, we have Bible Quiz team practice. This provides an in depth study of the Bible. Team members get the opportunity to travel to various locations nearby and far away to participate in competitions.
News & Upcoming Events
July 18-24 — Mission Trip to Gary, WV! Applications and info sheets are now available. Please apply soon. Space is limited, and the deadline to turn in applications is May 23rd. Cost is $350.00, but fundraisers will be available (and most of the cost could be covered through fundraisers, if you work at it!)
August 2-6 — District Teen Camp. Sign ups to come!
