Many times the Israelites “spoke arrogantly” against the Lord; yet again and again, “the Lord listened and heard.” He not only heard but He also spared them and promised His people that they would be His “treasured possession”.
As you experience the Advent season this year, consider whether you have spoken arrogantly against the Lord, perhaps questioning your circumstances or what is going on in the world, doubting His ability to handle it. When worldly “stuff” is flying at you, sometimes it is hard to remember who is really in charge, who is Sovereign.
Yet, He spared the Israelites and if we repent, He will spare us as well. We, too, are His “treasured possession”. That certainly should give us hope for our current lives and for all eternity with our faithful Lord.
Ask yourself: Do you treasure the Lord, spending time with Him? Do you fear Him and put Him first in your life? Will you honor Him this season and always as your Lord and Savior? I pray you will know the peace, hope and love He has for you.
