Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

Want to hear some good news? YOU surpassed our goal of raising $20,000 for the new church van! Praise God! And thank you for your generosity and, more to the point, thank you for being a family who partners together in this mission of embodying and proclaiming the good news of Jesus to our neighborhood. In case you’re wondering, sometime this week we should have the new van here in our parking, and ready for use soon. Again, thanks for praying, thanks for giving, and thanks for loving.

I’ve been loving our series through Exodus. I would love to hear from you: What are you seeing in your reading through Exodus? What questions does it raise? How have you been able to apply it to your own life, or to our church? Email me (pastorbrian@gburgnaz.org) and let me know. We continue this Sunday, with the 2nd episode of the Burning Bush.

Here are some things coming up in the life of our church over the next few weeks:

  1. Community Block Party. This Saturday, September 28th, 4-6pm. The Equity Center is putting this on as an event for everyone in the community, but it will happen in our parking lot! So, feel free to come on out and enjoy the fun, and connect with neighbors.
  2. GCN Kids Ministry Event: Fall at the Farm. October 26th at the Curran Farm. This is for all kids (baby – 5th grade) and their parents. Games, Animals, Fall Snacks, and more!
  3. TEAM Day. Saturday, November 2nd. At Grace Pointe Church of the Nazarene in Severn, MD. This is a top-notch leadership event that is put on by the Mid-Atlantic District Church of the Nazarene. CLICK HERE to find out more and to register.
  4. Faith Promise Sunday. Sunday, November 3rd. This is a great Sunday when we kick-off our Faith Promise offering that helps fund Kingdom of God efforts all over the world. This year, our speakers will be Wilmar and Jessica Rojas. They served for over a decade as missionaries in Argentina. Now, they are serving in South Carolina. We look forward to hearing from them. Much love,

Pastor Brian
