Weekly Update
GCN Family,
May God’s favor be upon you and a thousand generations, and your family, and your children, and their children, and their children.
May His presence go before you, and behind you, and beside you, all around you, and within you, He is with you. He is with you!
In the morning, in the evening, in your coming, and your going. In your weeping, and rejoicing, He is for you. He is for you!
This past weekend, nearly 20 GCNers joined with hundreds of other brothers and sisters around the Mid-Atlantic District Church of the Nazarene for Mission Advance (District Assembly). That time together is a beautiful reminder that the church is God’s gift to the world and also God’s gift to one another. The church is so much bigger than GCN, but it definitely includes GCN!
The weekend ended with a powerful worship service on Sunday evening in which our district ordained 11 people as elders into the Church of the Nazarene. By the way, our own Pastor Lauren is slated to be ordained in that same worship service a year from now!
Those words (above) from the song, The Blessing, are still resounding in my heart because those are the words that those hundreds of people in that worship service were proclaiming over those newly ordained pastors at the end of the night.
That is my prayer for you, as individuals, as families, and as a church. On Sunday morning, we said that “because of the resurrection of Jesus, we don’t need to be afraid of anything, worried about anything, insecure about anything, or jealous of anyone. We are set free to love other people in the name of Jesus.”
This week, and always, receive the Holy Spirit. Live in the freedom of the resurrected Jesus, not just for your own sake, but for your family, for your children, and their children, and their children. Recognize His presence before you, behind you, beside you, all around you, and with you. He is with you. He is for you. Amen.
A REMINDER: Connect Lunch THIS Sunday, April 19th. Immediately following the worship service, in the Life Center. We’ll be all wrapped up by 1:30pm. If you are newer to GCN, we hope you’ll be a part of this! The lunch is free, but CLICK HERE to register.
Much Love,
Pastor Brian
