Weekly Update

GCN Family,

In Mark 8, Jesus heals a blind man. I loved how Teanna Sunberg, our preacher this past Sunday, highlighted the pieces of this passage.

Jesus led the man outside the village. The healing of this man was not a spectacle, but a personal touch of Jesus.

Jesus put mud on the man’s eyes, but he was only partially healed. “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”

Jesus touched the man’s eyes again. Only then was he able to see. Healing takes time. Jesus is patient. Jesus restored dignity. And so should we.

This past Sunday was Faith Promise Sunday.

Every Faith Promise pledge helps support the mission of God all over the world. If you didn’t get a chance to make a Faith Promise Pledge, I want to invite you to do that now. CLICK HERE to access that online pledge card.
Towards the end of the lunch, Jay shared ways that we can be praying for he and Teanna and their ministry. Here they are:

  • Pray for people in their community (East Harlem, NYC) to come to Christ.
  • Pray for the Alpha Course that Jay is beginning in the spring
  • Pray for increased partnerships with community leaders and organizations
  • Pray for the follow-up on the interfaith event in October
  • Pray for Teanna as she defends her dissertation this Friday (November 6)
  • Pray for financial provision for the Sunbergs in 2027

If you would like to receive updates from the Sunbergs through their newsletter, CLICK HERE to sign up.

A FEW MORE THINGS…
  1. GCN Leadership Election. Sunday, November 22. Please be praying for the process of choosing board members, ministry team leaders, resource team leaders, and delegates to District Assembly. All members of GCN are eligible to vote.
  2. Thanksgiving Turkey Feast. Sunday, November 22. It’s a GCN tradition! Invite people to join you for this big day.

Thank you for loving, for serving, for giving, and for praying.

Much Love,

Pastor Brian
