Weekly Update
Hi Church Family,
(1) Do not panic. (2) Keep it in perspective. (3) This too shall pass. (4) Trust the Engineer (that is, Trust God!). Those are the 4 hacks we looked at this past Sunday, and by the power of the Holy Spirit in us, may we be a people who live like this! Have you been journeying through Exodus this fall? If not, hop onto the Daily Bible Reading & Prayer Plan on the GCN Mobile App. I’d love to hear from you: What is God teaching you through this journey through Exodus? (pastorbrian@gburgnaz.org)

Honduras Mission Update, Hurricane Helene Relief Info, Faith Promise Sunday, Prime Timer Lunch, and an Invitation to Serve:
- Honduras Mission Trip 2025 will be June 26-July 7, 2025. We are excited about what God is doing in and through the ministry we have partnered with for many years, Cocal Gracias in Puerto Cortes, Honduras. And thankful for that revitalized partnership in these days. If you are at all interested in being a part of that trip, or learning more, CLICK HERE and fill out the Interest Form. Also, a couple other Honduras-related items:
- We are in the process of forming a “Education-Training Team” to help support the ministries of Cocal Gracias. If you are an educator or have an interest in helping equip and train teachers in Cocal Gracias’s ministry, contact Pastor Kevin (pastorkevin@gburgnaz.org).
- Be on the lookout for more ways to support Cocal Gracias as we get closer to Advent Season.
- Hurricane Helene Relief. If you would like to give directly to that relief effort through Nazarene Compassionate Ministries, CLICK HERE.
- Stay tuned for information about donating supplies for Crisis Care Kits. Members of our Nazarene Missions Team will be in the kiosk in the foyer after service this Sunday with more details about this.

- Faith Promise Sunday. Sunday, November 3rd. This is a great Sunday when we kick-off our Faith Promise offering that helps fund Kingdom of God efforts all over the world. This year, our speakers will be Wilmar and Jessica Rojas. They served for over a decade as missionaries in Argentina. Now, they are serving in South Carolina. We look forward to hearing from them. And click here to learn more about Faith Promise Offering!
- Prime Timer Lunch. Friday, October 18th. 12:00pm – 1:30pm. If you are 65 or older, we hope you’ll be a part of this! We pray together, eat together, and laugh (a lot) together. RSVP to Jill Gale and Jean Hampton by this Monday, October 14th. CLICK HERE for more info.
- Interested in Serving in our Stewartown Community After School Program? This is Tuesdays, 4:00-5:30pm. If you love kids and have a heart for serving in our neighborhood, we hope you’ll consider being a part of this. If you are a parent with school-aged children, you can bring your children with them. Also, if you are a High Schooler or Middle Schooler, you can earn SSL hours by serving. This is a specific need for our church family at this time. If you are interested in serving or learning more, contact Sonja Hatten (shatten@terpmail.umd.edu).
