Weekly Update

GCN Family,

Today marks one week since the beginning of Lent. Some of you have chosen to fast during this season. Some of you have chosen to take on a new practice (or attitude) this season. I was talking to one GCNer who shared that they had given up sadness, choosing instead to be filled with gratitude. I love that!

In Joel 2:12, the Lord speaks to the people of God and declares: Even now, return to me with all your heart, with fasting and weeping and mourning.

There is some connection between our fasting and the Holy Spirit revealing things inside of us that need to change. All of that is for the purpose of returning to the Lord.

I’m praying that this season is a time of us returning to the Lord, church. Amen.

A Few Things Coming Up:

1. All Church Cleaning Day. Saturday, March 14th. What a great way to serve together and to bless our neighborhood at the same time!
2. Men’s Lunch. Saturday, March 21st. More info coming soon!
3. Easter @ GCN. Sunday, April 5th. Who are you inviting to join you?
4. Baptism Sunday = Easter Sunday (April 5th). If you have a relationship with Jesus and have not yet been baptized, we hope you’ll choose to get baptized on Easter!
