Weekly Update

GCN Family,

Because of the resurrection of Jesus, we have hope. If you are worried, the grace of Jesus meets you right where you are. However, because Jesus has overcome the grave, you don’t need to be overcome by worry.

This past Sunday, we wrapped up our series through 1 Peter. Peter ends the body of his letter by declaring to these persecuted and discouraged Christians: “To Jesus be the power for ever and ever. Amen.”

We don’t overcome sin, or pain, or struggles in our own power. All the power is to Jesus.
This coming Sunday is Pentecost Sunday. It’s the day when we celebrate the filling of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer and the life of the church. The Holy Spirit is the very POWER, the very PRESENCE, the very PERSON of God in our life. Receive Him today!

A Few Other Things:
  1. Kids Ministry Director. Several months ago, we announced that we were actively looking for a new staff position: A Kids Ministry Director. The search process is going well, and we have identified a very promising candidate. Thank you for praying over this process! Be on the lookout in the coming days for more on this. We believe really good days are ahead!
  2. Grad Sunday is May 31st. On that day, we will celebrate our 2026 grads. The high school grads are: Naomi Flores, Emily Sevilla, Jayda Lohmeier, Ben Beccles, and Susie Beccles. We’re proud of our grads!
  3. Condolences: Please pray for…
  • Traci Weems and that passing of her father.
  • Annie Brown and the passing of her father.
  • The family of Nancy Berzins (former GCNer) and her passing last week.

Much Love,
Pastor Brian
