Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

Get this: God wants to write His love, His law, His Presence, His goodness…in your heart. That’s what the prophet Jeremiah is pronouncing in Jeremiah 31:33. And then, get this: He’s already made that possible. How? Through Christ, as the Holy Spirit fills us. When we intentionally give the Holy Spirit access to our lives, He fills us with the love of God. (Romans 5:5) So, here’s your encouragement today: You are being set free to love people with the love of Jesus. You no longer need to worry about what other people think. You no longer need to believe the lie that you’re not good enough. You no longer need to be distracted. We have the love of Jesus filling our lives, written on our hearts.

That’s just a little sneak peak to this coming Sunday. In fact, who can you be inviting to join you these next few weeks leading up to Easter? So many people are looking for a place to belong, and so many people will belong before they believe. Let’s be the church.

Check out gaithersburgnazarene.org/announcements for good ways to connect, but let me highlight just a few:
  • All-Church Cleaning Day. March 23. 1-4pm. It’s fun to serve together!
  • Pray for all of the intentional ways we are on-mission in our neighborhood: Stewartown Tutoring, Food Distribution, Nursing Home Ministry, Women’s Shelter, and a new opportunity helping families in a local elementary school. Is God leading you to plug into any of these opportunities?
  • Mid-Atlantic District Mission Advance. April 5-7. This is our annual conference with over 100 Nazarene churches from MD, DE, DC, and parts of PA and WV. This will be at the Baltimore BWI Hilton. And our own Pastor Lauren will be recognized for receiving her District Minister’s License at the Sunday evening service (April 7) at 6pm.

Much love,

Pastor Brian
