Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

We are called to be the Tabernacling Presence of Jesus to all the people around us. That was the message from this past Sunday. However, it only makes any difference as we live it all those 7 days of the week.

I’m grateful that you’re a church who is living this out! One example: Stewartown After School Program. Tuesdays, 4:00pm-5:30pm. I think this might be some of the most important “Tabernacling Jesus” work that we’re doing in our immediate neighborhood these days. Huge thanks to Pastor Kevin for his initiative of ministry there, and to Sonja Hatten for her program leadership on Tuesdays. But, can I invite you into something? Consider being a part of this team. This is one of our biggest “outside-the-walls” need for volunteers right now. Click Here to fill out that interest form.

So many good things coming up…

1. The Annual GCN Thanksgiving Feast. This Sunday, November 24th, just after the worship service. Who are you inviting to join you this Sunday? Sharing a meal together is one of the best ways that we can extend hospitality to others, and invite people in who need a place to belong. There’s always more room at the table! Send that text. Make that call. And if you’d like to send a link to someone, CLICK HERE for that.
2. Church Elections. Also this Sunday. If you are a GCN member, 15 years-old and up, you are invited to participate in our annual church election. We’ll be electing five new board members, delegates our church’s District Assembly (“Mission Advance”), and our Ministry Leaders for 2025. CLICK HERE to check out the Sample Ballot, and be praying over our leaders for the new year. Voting Instructions: The ballots will be available at a table in the lobby, with a volunteer ready to assist. That will be set up from 10:00am-10:30am (before our worship service), then again from 11:45am-12:30pm (just after the worship service).
3. Christmas Decorating @ GCN! This Sunday, 5pm – 7pm. Come on out and deck the halls! It’s so much fun to serve together. Just show up (no supplies needed), and you’ll receive instructions on decorating our lobby and sanctuary. Looking forward to this!
4. Women’s Advent Bible Study. Sundays at 9am on December 1, 8, 15, and 22. If you are a woman, you’re invited to be a part of this study. The Marvel and Miracle of Advent: Recapturing the Wonder of Jesus Living with Us. Check out the Trailer for the Bible Study by clicking here.
