Weekly Update

Hi GCN Family,

Thanks so much for praying for and supporting our Vision Team that went to Puerto Cortes, Honduras (and surrounding areas) this past week. The team arrived home safely late Monday evening. There is way too much to share in this email, but let me just say this: God is on the move in the church in Honduras, God was at work in the lives of that vision team, and I am convinced that such good Kingdom of God things are in store for our church in the future, through this partnership. This Sunday morning, we’ll have a chance to hear more from that team, and Pastor Kevin will be looking ahead to the future of that partnership between our church and Ministerio La Voz, the Timothy Center, and other initiatives with that ministry in Honduras.

Below check out my conversation with Brian Ruark, director of Cocal Gracias and Ministerio La Voz. We had originally planned for that video to be a part of the message from this past Sunday, so that’s why there are some references to the parable the message. Still, he shares a story of transformation and then looks ahead to how he sees God working and moving in that ministry in the coming years. Again, thanks for being a church who loves our neighborhood, but who also comes alongside the church around the world to love their neighborhood.

A few more things:
  1. Thanks so much for your generosity towards our Church Van Capital Campaign. I hope to have an update of funds raised to-date by Sunday, but it looks like we’re making great progress towards our goal of $20k. If you have not had an opportunity to give yet, CLICK HERE to see how to give online. Just select “Van Capital Campaign” from the Fund drop-down menu. As I mentioned a couple weeks ago, our goal is for all of us to play a part in this, regardless of how large or small the gift. An investment in this is an investment in the discipleship of future GCNers and the next generation. Thank you!

  1. Welcome Home Sunday & Baptism Sunday is September 8th. We’re also inviting people to be baptized on this Sunday. If you (or your child) is interested in being baptized, please CLICK HERE to fill out our Connect Card. Select “I’m interested in being baptized.” Our pastors will be in touch with you soon.

Mucho Amor,

Pastor Brian
