Faith Promise
Hi Church Family,
This past Sunday was so good! We were challenged by AJ and Chelsea Fry’s message: When Jesus calls us, it’s always a step of faith. AJ and Chelsea embody this with their own story, as they have followed God’s leading even when it’s difficult and even when it doesn’t make sense. I think that’s a really good definition of faith. What do you need to trust God with today? What thing in your life is causing you to worry or to pull back instead of to step forward in faith? I know it’s an extreme example, but my favorite example of faith from the Bible has to be Abraham. He definitely had his flaws, but think about the amount of faith it must have taken for him to believe that God would provide a sacrifice when he marched up that mountain with Isaac (Genesis 22). He had been waiting on this son for decades! Still, Abraham trusted. God provided. Again, in what way do you need to trust God today?
Thank you to all who pledged or gave towards Faith Promise this past Sunday. So far, you have pledged $16,560. Praise God! I know that many of you didn’t get a chance to pledge. It’s not too late! CLICK HERE for that online Faith Promise pledge card and let’s be all about investing in and joining God’s mission around our world!
This Sunday, we continue our series: We Believe. What we believe about who God is ends up shaping how we view ourselves, one another, and our world. It ultimately ends up shaping how we live and how well we love others. If we get God wrong…everything else is thrown off. This week, we’ll be looking at what we believe about the Scriptures. Here’s a hint: “All scripture is God-breathed…” (2 Timothy 3:16) Invite someone to join you for our worship service this Sunday!
Condolences. This past Friday morning, longtime GCN-er, Janet Kenley, passed away. What a wonderful woman she was and what a legacy she leaves. Let’s be in prayer for the family during this time.
You are loved.
